This is an unfinished baltic birch praying mantis cutout — cut in a single piece with all the character of the insect's alert stance, raised forelegs, and tapered abdomen. It works well as a standalone nature accent or as part of a larger themed display. Folks use these for insect-themed classroom displays, science and nature bulletin boards, and garden-themed wall art. We've also seen them turn into Halloween decor accents, bug-collector gifts, and painted pieces for kids' science rooms — with the adult doing the finishing work. The spindly legs and antenna silhouette make this a satisfying shape to paint or stain. Made to order in our Minnesota shop, ready for your finish. Cut from 1/8" cabinet grade baltic birch. Available 3" and up — or customize sizes or pick from available modifications in our Concept Studio. Most simple modifications are at no additional cost.
