Luna Moth ($1.10 – $25.63)

This is an unfinished baltic birch luna moth cutout — the distinctive wide forewings, scalloped hindwings, and elongated tail streamers that make the luna moth one of the more recognizable moths in North America. It works as a solid silhouette base for projects of almost any scale. Folks use these for wreath accents, door hangers, and wall art pieces with a nature or woodland theme. We've also seen them turn into nursery wall art, tiered tray accents, and seasonal garland elements. The scalloped outline and tail streamers give the silhouette a lot of character when painted or left natural — they hold detail well in stain or wood-burning too. Cut to order in our Minnesota shop, ready for paint, stain, epoxy, or just leaving it natural. Cut from 1/8" cabinet grade baltic birch.
