This is an unfinished baltic birch cutout of the American Sign Language hand sign for the letter K, ready for paint, stain, or just leaving it natural. The K handshape — index and middle fingers extended in a V with the thumb between them — is one of the foundational signs in the ASL alphabet. Folks use these for classroom alphabet displays, sign language learning boards, and educational wall art in schools and libraries. We've also seen them turn into nursery name letters for children learning ASL from birth, deaf community appreciation gifts, and alphabet garland pieces strung together for language classrooms. Each piece features engraved interior detail showing finger positioning, which adds depth when painted or stained. Cut in our Minnesota shop from 1/8" cabinet grade baltic birch. Available 1" and up — or customize sizes or pick from available modifications in our Concept Studio. Most simple modifications are at no additional cost.
