This is an unfinished baltic birch koi fish cutout in a curved, upward-swimming pose — the kind of flowing silhouette that reads well at almost any size. The curved body and flowing fin detail give it a graceful, organic feel that works in a lot of contexts. Folks use these for wall art in Asian-inspired or nature-themed rooms, pond and water garden decor, and koi pond signage. We've also seen them turn into painted door hangers, wreath accents, and tiered tray pieces for a nature or garden theme. They show up regularly in aquarium hobbyist craft projects and Japanese-themed home decor arrangements too. Cut to order in our Minnesota shop from 1/8" cabinet grade baltic birch, sanded and ready for paint, stain, wood-burning, or just leaving it natural.
