This is an unfinished scalloped oval blank — a solid oval shape with a lobed, bobbled perimeter that adds a decorative frame feel right out of the box. It works equally well as a sign blank, a label base, a wreath accent, or a frame-style wall piece. Folks use these for porch signs, tiered tray accents, and interchangeable seasonal displays — the scalloped edge reads as decorative on its own, so it doesn't need embellishment to look finished. We've also seen them turn into gift tags, monogram bases, baby shower table accents, and farmhouse-style name plaques. Cut to order in our Minnesota shop from 1/8" cabinet grade baltic birch, sanded and ready for your finish. Available 1" and up — or customize sizes or pick from available modifications in our Concept Studio. Most simple modifications are at no additional cost.

These wood cut-outs are perfect for my craft projects. They are great to paint on.
The only thing I would add is that I’ve received a few pieces that have seams where it looks like two pieces of wood are attached. This actually creates a very visible marking that I can’t really paint over, even after sanding it. I’m using these wood pieces to paint ornaments and the visible seam in the wood disrupts the design, so I end up with a few cut-outs that I can’t really use. But thankfully, it was only a few pieces out of a fairly big order.
