This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from craftcutconcepts.com (the “Site”), operated by Elemental Craftworks LLC (“we,” “us”).

Who we are

Our website address is: https://craftcutconcepts.com

The Site is operated by Elemental Craftworks LLC (doing business as Craft Cut Concepts), 26580 Timberhill Cir., Zimmerman, MN 55398, United States.

We are a made-to-order manufacturer. We manufacture based on catalog selections or on designs you configure or submit to us. This means we process some information — including artwork and design files — that a general-merchandise retailer would not.

Information we collect

Information you give us (Order Information). When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information. Your payment details are entered with and processed by our payment providers (see Who we share your data with); we do not store payment card details ourselves.

Design and configuration information. When you use our Concept Studio or “Customize Your Design” tools, we collect the design choices you make (shape, size, material, quantity) and, where you upload artwork, the files you provide. We generate and store derived data from these — including geometry measurements, manufacturing evaluations, cost and pricing calculations, and rendered preview images — in order to quote, evaluate, and produce your work.

Information you submit through forms, chat, and uploads. When you contact us through the Site’s contact form, “report an issue” links, or live chat, we collect the information in the form or conversation (name, email, phone, message) and any files you upload or email to us (for example photos, PDFs, or design files). We use these to respond to you and to evaluate and produce custom work.

Information we collect automatically (Device Information). When you visit the Site, we automatically collect information about your device, including your web browser and user-agent string, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies installed on your device. As you browse, we collect information about the pages and products you view, what referred you to the Site, and how you interact with it.

We collect Device Information using technologies such as:

  • Cookies — data files placed on your device, often including an anonymous unique identifier. For more about cookies and how to disable them, visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org
  • Log files — which track actions on the Site and collect data including your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels — electronic files used to record how you browse the Site.

Bot and fraud screening. We use Google reCAPTCHA on the Site to distinguish human visitors from automated traffic. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information from your device and sends it to Google for analysis. Your use of the Site is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (https://policies.google.com/terms).

When we refer to “Personal Information” in this Policy, we mean Order Information, Design and configuration information, Device Information, and the information you submit through forms, chat, and uploads.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the Site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the Site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the Site can download and extract any location data from images published on the Site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on the Site you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies, for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details again. These cookies last one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen-options cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie (no personal data, just the post ID) is saved and expires after one day.

Our live chat, analytics, and bot-protection providers may also set cookies or similar identifiers. See Who we share your data with.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this Site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including if you are logged in to that website.

How we use your information

We use the Order Information we collect to fulfill orders placed through the Site — processing payment, calculating sales tax, arranging shipping, and providing invoices and order confirmations. We also use it to:

  • communicate with you about your order, including shipment and delivery notifications;
  • screen orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • when in line with preferences you’ve shared, send you information about our products or services.

We use Design and configuration information to quote, evaluate, and produce custom and made-to-order work, and to operate and improve our design and pricing tools.

We use the information you submit through forms, chat, and uploads to respond to your inquiry and to quote, evaluate, and produce custom or made-to-order work.

We use Device Information to help screen for risk and fraud (in particular your IP address), to protect the Site from automated abuse, and to improve and optimize the Site (for example, analytics about how customers browse and interact with it).

Automated decision-making

Our design and pricing tools calculate quotes, manufacturability assessments, and prices automatically from the design parameters you select. Our chat assistant generates responses automatically. These processes act on your design and message content, not on profiles of you as an individual, and they do not produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. You can reach a human at any time by contacting us using the details below.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.

For registered users, we store the personal information in their profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their information at any time (except their username). Administrators can also see and edit that information.

When you place an order, we retain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete it, except where we are obliged to keep it for administrative, legal, tax, or security purposes.

We retain design files, uploaded artwork, and derived design data associated with an order for as long as we retain the corresponding Order Information, so that we can reproduce, reorder, or support the work we made for you.

Chat transcripts are retained by us and by our chat provider for support and quality purposes.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect Personal Information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the Site, access controls on our internal systems, and payment processing handled entirely by PCI-compliant third-party providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your Personal Information, which may include the right to request access to the information we hold about you, to request correction or deletion, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Information, contact us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

We operate from the United States and our service providers process information in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
